“On Repeat”

September is here, which means new exhibits and opportunities to buy new art! I have two paintings currently on exhibit at Hive artspace. The “On Repeat” exhibit features art featuring repetition of objects, forms, or patterns. You can view all the pieces in the show in person on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00 PM, by appointment, or follow Hive artspace on facebook to keep up with special events! Not local? View the exhibit online here.

Art Process:

Most of my watercolor paintings begin by sketching out the composition on Arches watercolor paper, then painting with highly pigmented watercolors. After drying, I mount the paintings to a cradled wood panel using Golden Extra Heavy Gel Matte Medium. I then seal the watercolor painting with either cold wax medium or an acrylic spray varnish. After sealing, I cut away the overhang and lightly sand the edges, then prepare the painting to be hung for display.
