I am delighted that my recent watercolor painting Gray Cat in the Strawberry Patch was selected for publication in Uppercase Magazine! Like many of my paintings, this one was done with a limited palette featuring one of my newest favorite colors, pyrrole orange. It makes such juicy reds and pinks and really stands out on its own as well. The cat is inspired by my own gray cat, Gigi Babycat, who insists on being involved in the art studio. I also really love painting strawberries in general and am hoping to design a repeat pattern with them in the future as a fabric design.
