There’s new public art up in downtown York, PA! Thanks to the efforts of the Cultural Alliance of York County, the City of York, and Downtown Inc with coordination from the City of York Department of Public Works and the Rotary Club of York, selections from 17 artists have been installed on the planters along Market Street, including mine! (Mine are at the southwest corner of Market and Pershing!) I helped install them, and they all look fantastic in person. Check them out the next time you’re downtown and scan the codes at the bottom of the planters to learn more about each artist. Check out this article from the York Daily Record to see more photos of the planters during installation day.

On October 7, I participated in Art Battle in York, PA. Twelve artists were challenged to complete a painting in 20 minutes, then the audience voted for their favorites to advance to the next round. I left some bare canvas on mine at the end, but it was a rush and I had a lot of fun! See the results from all artists here. Here’s how mine progressed (all photos courtesy of Art Battle):

It was such a good experience, so if there’s an Art Battle happening near you, I’d encourage you to go as a competing artist or as a spectator!
Always a treat, October means it’s time for the annual Spooky Art Show at HIVE artspace! I have one painting in this show, Portents, a 20″x16″ watercolor on aquabord panel (framed to 21″x17″). I also have a few haunting prints available, so stop by to pick some up! Check out the show through on weekends from noon-4PM through the end of October or view the show online!
